Lhook7First Big Bore in 3 Years
Today I got to shoot my 450 Rigby for the first time in nearly three years. I have been on Guam and all my rifles in storage back in the US, but now I am back for vacation and got to have a little fun! It was great to be shooting again! I was shooting off hand at 50 yards, first shot was right on, second shot was a big flinch,

and the next six were in the kill zone. I was shooting in a pasture, so I went and shot the last two rounds into a couple of trees so I could show my buddy how much a 450 Rigby will penetrate.
I have another 10 rounds that I am saving until later in the week. I am hoping I have time to go chase some wild hogs.

Thanks Keith! I'll be moving back permanently some time between January and July, if I only knew where....

Lhook7The rifle is a Heym express rifle with a Swaro PVI 1.25-4x24 using the Swaro rail mount system and EAS QD Mounts. I'll get a couple of pictures posted in the next few days.

AtkinsonI've noticed that when one takes a sabatical on shooting big bores it takes awhile to get back in the groove, and you tend to flinch if you don't focus...After awhile shooting them it seems to come back and all is well, at least that has worked for me over the years.

Lhook7I'm back on Guam and finally got time to download some pictures. I did not have enough time to go pig hunting, but I did keep Southern Oklahoma safe from rogue jack o lanterns.
Preparing for the hunt
Softening him up with a 22
After two shots from the 450 Rigby
After three shots
The fourth shot did it.
