In a Gunbroker ad for a Winchester MDL. 70 375 H&H reamed to 375 Weatherby the seller states that 375 H&H ammo can be used in the rifle and will be fire formed to 375 Weatherby. Is this true and is it safe? Thanks.

Yes it is true, and it is safe and accurate on the target. The 2.85" brass shortens to about 2.83" in being blown out and perfectly fire formed, so you just end up with a shorter neck.

a .375 H&H 300 grainer at 2530 fps (from a .375 H&H rifle) comes out of the .375 Wby at about 2400 fps. Less recoil, super killer low velocity loads that way.

It is.

Best of the 375's. Got mine about 5 years ago and it seems I'm using it more than all my other rifles. Shoots flat and hits hard, 350gr/2500fps, 300gr/2750fps from a 24" barrel.
With 375h&h factory loads I get 1.5" to 2" groups at 100yds and loss about 100fps off 375h&h velocitys.

It is the best!!! all things concidered.....If you get it ...And it gives the brass a coke bottle ring somewhere on the neck side of the shoulder you should have the barrel turned in 1 turn and re reamed... Or have a special reamer , used to go deep but not mess with the head space.....That has been a common problem with all the improved 375 s.....It was Hal Waughs favorite also.....
