mart375 Whelen long shot
I think it was on this forum I sold my 375 Whelen. It was a Sedgley Springfield I had rebored by JES. The private messages don't stay around forever so I have lost track of who bought it.
I'm curious how you got along with it and and if you got an opportunity to hunt with it and to say if you ever want to part with it let me know. I kind of regret selling it sometimes. It was kind of cool having all three Whelens.
I know it's a long shot.

AtkinsonI feel the same way about my last wildcat, a 9.3x62 opened up to a 375 bullet, not other change...It duplicated my old standby .375 Load of a 300 gr. bullet at 2500 FPS (yes I know you can load the .375 to a tad over 2600). 2500 FPS is the ideal velocity for a 300 gr. 375 caliber IMO, saves bullet integrity and kills very well indeed on Buffalo, Hippos, Lion and not to shabby on elephant..LIke you, wish Id kept it.
My only complaint is I built the "9.5x62" a bit light at 7.5 lbs..If I ever build another it will weigh a pound more at least..recoil was not only harsh, but too snappy...Added a scope and got it up to 9 lbs and that made a big difference, it was just about perfect. All I had to do was run a 9.3x62 case into my 9.5x62 die..

APDDSN0864My .375-06 RCBS (.375 Whelen with a 30 degree shoulder) will be the last big bore rifle I get rid of.
Extremely accurate, easy to load for, and a real thumper.
