Hey you .577 owners !
I'd like to know what .577 caliber you would choose in a bolt action;

.585 Nyati
.577 T-rex
.577 NE,,,,,,,,, and others you have in mind.And please give me the reason !

I think i would chose.. hm let me think... maybe the .577 TYRANNOSAUR Are you going to buy a 577/585 caliber?? Have Ulrik test the GS CUSTOM FN SOLID bullets in his .577 T-REX??

Overkill . I'm not going to buy a .577 T-rex yet but are waiting for more respond and upcoming arguments for one or the other,,the ,577 T-rex and the .585 Nyati. So then i will start up making up my troublesome mind. Of course the .577 T-rex is the most temting of those but rifle will be more expensive i think,,and i think the .585 's power ( 10,000 ft/lbs gives me satisfaction whatsoever).I got an offering from Ulrik,,to buy his T-rex gun,,but i don't have the cash,,,so the .585 Nyati is cheaper.Unfortunately the .585 can't match the T-rex in power and capacity so the question remains !!

So you are going to buy a .585 Nyati or a .577 Tyrannosaur. I am still thinking of the .700 BMG IMPROVED not for hunting but just for fun...! But a .585 Nyati you can use for hunting... I will buy one of those one day. Do you know if Ulrik have test the 750 grain GS custom bullets in his .577 T-rex???

If your poor like me you will get a poor mans .577 T Rex which is you guessed it the .585 Nyati . I love my .585 Nyati and do not worry about power as the .585 still has a little bit

To do a 577 Ty right, you need a bolt with a .750 diameter. The 577 Ty has a .688 rim after all, and a .700 bolt diameter (CZ550, Enfield, etc.) is just not beefy enough in my opinion.

The 585 nyati also has the advantage that you can buy brass anytime, but with the 577 you have to talk Mr. Horneber into making up a batch.

A-Square is again producing brass and Jim (new owner) said the 577 Tyran will be on of the first runs. The created the monster and feel (rightfully so) a responsibility to feed it. Call them at (502)255-3021 or (812)283-0577. Call for price and availability.

Well,, if i go purchase a rifle in .577 Tyr i've heard that the A-square action is absolutely sufficient enough to handle bolt thrust and chamber pressure. And Enfields are really hard stuff !
So when they're back on their feets again i think i will get me a hannibal rifle, like Ulriks. And when i can afford the thing.(i bet a-square has done a lot of testing in this caliber so i think it would be a smart solution to buy from A-square. Barrel will be long 26" to keep recoil down and get the weight up a little(as if that helps with top loads (2700 fps@750 gr.)
With max loads it will hurt anyway

If you buy A-Square brass, I suggest buying only 1 box to start to be sure it is not too soft.
