Came across this on the internet. Opinions? Anyone familiar with M.W. Reynolds?

If I recall, Richard Harland was fond of his. (See "The Hunting Imperative") Looks like a nice rifle.

That rifle was listed on GunsAmerica a few days ago, and is currently marked "sold."

The length of pull is listed as 14 inches. If that is correct, than the stock was cut for the pad. It should be just over 14 inches with a synthetic buttplate, measured to the front trigger. (they cut the wrong part of the stock. The 1956 has the worst comb of any M-S model).

The good news is that the rifle appears to be in minty condition. The scope mount is factory Steyr. They are bulky and ugly, but detach very easily and are worth quite a bit by themselves.

Hard to find one of these. As in nearly impossible. Cool

IMHO, this one needs some cosmetic work on the stock, i.e., I would get rid of the white line spacers and that hideous rollover cheekpiece and install a Decelerator pad, but if that work is done, it will be a fine working rifle.

Heresy to a collector, but necessary in order to make for a good looking and comfortable shooter.

I know Mark Reynolds. He is a good guy to do business with. He has a very nice place close to downtown denver. I have been in a few times.

Any idea how much it went for? I would really like one of those. ( As would every one else that I know)!

If you own a gun and you are not a member of the NRA and other pro 2nd amendment organizations then YOU are part of the problem.

3K don't seem too bad.. Not great but very understandable.. The stock & DST would kill the deal for me though. Although I love M/S's, with just a GK in 7X57 I'm certainly no expert on them..

Hmmm, I wonder if I'd hesitate before I took it out in the rain? dancing

I agree, this configuration seems to be rarer than hen's teeth, particularly one in this type of condition. Only the second one I have seen in three or four years.
