NormanConquestJack The Ripper
There have been numerous tales about this one.I can recommend the 'Barker + Lwellyn series' or the Gracien novel "Lost + Gone Forever".Let us not forget Patricia Cornwells volume on "Jack the ripper;Case closed."Her's is not fantasy as the others. This is done with pure modern research dealt to Victorian days.If you like a murder mystery, then start here.

billrquimbyI'm an avid reader of Patricia Cornwell's stuff, but I was disappointed with her book on the Ripper. It's probably just me, but I wasn't convinced she had the right suspect.

Bill/OregonBill, I looked into this book and saw she was roundly criticized. She released a sequel, "Chasing the Ripper," in 2014 that supposedly offers additional evidence.

dan belisleI've read both of her books. I know you can never prove this out 100%, but she makes a damn good case. - dan

NormanConquestI found it enlightening if not final. And to quote Hillary,"What difference does it make now?" I am interested in the opening of the court transcripts of the trial of Mata Hari (the red dancer). that were sealed upon her execution in 1917 for 100 years. Probably tripe but as an historian I want to see it.Anyone else interested, just because?
