cessnaA Square in the Artic Circle
I'm still looking through my hunting library reading books I'd forgotten that I have. I read to relax after working various engineering projects. I found a book called A Square in the Artic Circle written by William Dayton Holmes. Written in 1960, about Holmes and a bowhunter named Arthur Crowley hunting Polar Bear in Alaska. Holmes does not sound familiar but Crowley does, I don't know why. Apparently Crowley wanted to be the first man to kill a Polar Bear with a long bow. It's not a big hard cover book only 168 pages. I've got to stop looking through my library I'll never get anything done. Anyone know of these two adventurers? Holmes was hunting with a .378 Weatherby and a .375 H&H.
