SaeedThe Log Of A Native Commissioner
This is a modestly told account of the experiences of a Native Commissioner in the remote Sebungwe of Rhodesia prior to WWI.
He writes of his opportunities to hunt and explore, his observations of wildlife, the hardships, self denial and dedicated services of a Native Commissioner.
Too little is known about these men, who live among the natives as their "fathers", since the times in 1896 when Rhodes himself spent two and a half months in teh Matapo talking to the matabele Chiefs. Theirs has been an immense resposibility calling for qualities of the hiest order.
