pevtsovyJust finished this book, thought it was great!
A short synopsis: Game Ranger Ron Thomson tries to catch infamous native elephant poacher Shadrek and finally catches up with him during the Rhodesian Bush war.
The author did catch up to Shadrek and interviewed him, so you get both points of view in this book.
I found Shadreks' story fascinating as you do not see much about the "natives" in most hunting books.
Well worth the money.

lavacaBought a copy at DSC. I've got around 15-20 books in the queue, including a couple of borrowed ones, which take precedence. So I'm not sure when I'll get to it.

shootawayI just finished reading it.It is not really a hunting book or a nature-hunting book.It is more about Rhodesia in the wartime and the story of how a poacher helped in a military operation-something along those lines. The story was interesting but not captivating.

lavacaGreat book. Hunting is hunting, in my book -- species notwithstanding.
