Black FlyCape/Combination Book?
Recently I've been reading a number of books that cover double shotguns and double rifles and drillings. I do have a couple of combinations and a cape gun. After handling and shooting them for some years, I personally beleive that they have little in common with double rifles or double shotguns. Doubles are a true sport gun., The drilling is a universalist gun. All three have a bit of gentility about them. The cape/combi seems to have more of a less gentile air, at least to me. More of a homesteader/farmer/poacher gun. Just curious if anyone knows of a book that goes into them.
Thanks

Black FlyJust goes to show you that if a dummy does the spell check, the word will still be wrong. Genteel would be the word that was in my head.
Just enjoy combinations and I have never seen a book or anything more than an article dedicated to them.

shakariWe've been looking since you made the original post but can't find any books at all..... I guess it's because they were mainly more of a working tool for early settlers than anything else.
Bloody shame really because I'd bet a good number of them saw some interesting places and unusual use.

Black FlyThat looks neat, but I have no German except in my genes. I certainly couldn't read it. Of course there are magazines that I only look at the pictures, and I enjoy them, so all would not be lost.
