This is a wonderfully written book by Craig Childs, who has spent years walking the Southwest and seeking out the secrets of her cliff-dweller ruins, from Chaco Canyon to Mesa Verde to Bears Ears to the Mogollon Rim and all the way to Paquimé in northern Mexico. His view that the mysterious "Anasazi" never vanished but just kept migrating is fascinating.
