shootawayAnyone know when African rifles and cartridges will again be available?
It has been a year or so that I remember it being on backorder.

Norman ConquestSafari Press still lists it in their catalog. If they are back ordered you might want to try Amazon.Great book,I would not take for mine.

postoakDon't trust Amazon, the bookstores they funnel you to will take advantage. Right now, they have the book listed new for $495 - $2285.65!
If you google around you can find it for $34.50 plus shipping.
OP, I have an extra copy I'll sell you if you want, for $35.00 shipped. I didn't mean to order it because I already have my own well-thumbed copy. I flipped thru the pages and it looks unread. It doesn't have the dust jacket like often seen. Instead it is green simulated-leather with gold embossing. The page edges are gold, too. There are a few tiny flaws on the outside, the gold edging has about a 1/4" x 1/4" defect where the gold is rubbed off and some similar scuff marks on the bottom. Oops, I see you are in Canada -- $40.00 shipped, or $30 plus actual shipping, your choice.
PM me if interested.

shootawayIt is nice to read a book that talks alot about rifles and cartridges where the author has alot of hunting and shooting experience with those rifles.

Norman ConquestPostoak,I will do my best to take you at your word but that really sounds like BS to me.John Taylor's book has been in a reasonable price range since its inseption. I am not calling you a liar. I am saying that if anyone were so foolish as to buy at that rate then I suppose that they deserve what they get....+ then some less.

Norman ConquestPostoak,my appolgies, did'nt catch all the details due to domestic interuptions while trying to type + think(on a seperate subject.)It's my only excuse but it's very true.

JTEXThanks Post Oak. I just finished it the other night.
Good read. Ol' Pondoro has some very good in sights but he did think quite a lot of himself.
BTW Post Oak is a good guy to do business with!

Hello. This is Mai from Safari Press. To answer the original question, Safari Press does not have any plans to reprint this title in the near future. Sorry to disappoint. This is one of the classics that I recommend to readers all the time.

shootawayI finished reading most of it and to tell the truth was dissapointed with it.I thought I was dealing with a really experienced shooter and that I might get some tips but all there was a lot of BS and garbage talk.It was good from a historical account of rifles used in those times and their cartridges.I think the bullet performance on game part was very boring.
