MJinesRecommendation: A Road We Do Not Know by Frederick Chiaventone
If you like historical novels that are well written and researched . . . books like The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara or the books that Michael's son Jeff has written, I commend to you A Road We Do Not Know by Frederick Chiaventone. It is a historical novel about the Battle of the Little Bighorn. I will warn you in advance, make sure that you pick up the book when you have plenty of time to read since once you start it you will find it hard to put down. Pity Chiaventone has only written two books.

MJinesThere are better pure military histories of the battle, but I have not read a more entertaining book about the battle. If you liked The Killer Angels, you will enjoy this book.

NormanConquestI have read Scharras books on the civil war + Mexican war of 47 + they were damn fine but I think my favorite was the one done about WW1 "To The Last Man." A novel but done in a manner of an historical treatise.

Thanks Mike, I will get it.
Lots of similarities in the Little Big Horn and Isandlwana battles.
