Trophy Hunter In Africa
 -

Elgin Gates' life was one of adventure and accomplishment. His first big game animal was taken with a Government-issue 30 M1 Carbine while he was serving with the US Air Force in Africa during WWII. From then on, he was hooked.

His hunts took him around the world, including Asia, Alaska and South America. But it was Africa that held a special place in his heart. Elgin gates realized that the golden era of biog game hunbing in Africa was coming to an end. That elephants with 100 p;ound ivory were disappearing while agriculture was eating up teh habitate of these and many othet trophy animals. He also realized he was among the last hunters who were able to glory in the last of the Old Days of African hunting, and chose his trophies carefully.

Saeed,

It must be a wonderful book. Is this a real photograph of Mr. Gates on title or a painting?

What a kudu.

Saad,

It looks like a painting, and I think there was some controversy about it in the past.

There was some talk that he had his hands on a "joint" of the horns of two kudus to make this one looks big.

I have no idea if this was true or not, just thought it might interest you to know it.
