This book comes from Princeton Field Guides.

Instead of drawings there are photos of each species. I had thought I had an understanding of all the major species of the world. I studied Wildlife Management and have a degree in that.

The biggest distractor of this book is that it is organized by species instead of by continent. But it is not a really a field guide so much as it is an encyclopedia.

He has another couple books coming out one on cat species and one on canids.

Anyway worth a look!
