If you have not read African Game Trail By Teddy Roosevelt you should.Its an awesome book.I like it more than any other african book i have ever read.It makes you want to go to africa with a 405 winchester!!

I also enjoyed it, but I wouldn't rank it above the African hunting books written by more recent authors, such as Ruark, Capstick, and a few others. Its value is in showing us how safari hunting used to be.

That's the book that started this whole addiction for me. My grandmother (step) gave me an old leatherbound copy of TR's book that was owned by her first husband (she was widowed). She never liked me and that was just to keep me from underfoot. But, I read it over and over. Still have the remnants of that book and have bought a more readable copy. The result, however, was that when I was 8 years old, I decided that I would hunt in Africa. And I have, and I will. Awesome book.
