Breathe of Africa by Pierre Decoster
Another hunter written book. This one is slightly better than the average "I shot this and saw that book". Decoster is French and has hunted extensively in Cameroon and West Africa. He has taken a large number of Lord Derby's Eland.

The bulk of the stories are hunt stories with his views on ethics woven in. It is not bad and well articulated. The book lacks "pop", something that says, "hey that is really cool" or "hey, that is well phrased". The book has its moments and it is worth reading if you are a confirmed eland-aholic.

I had a connection to this book as the author writes about taking a broken horned LDE in Cameroon. Turns out that very eland was handing on the wall in the camp we hunted recently in Cameroon with Faro East and Patrick Dahlan.

I would rate this - "read" if you are after Lord Derby's Eland or are headed to some of the not so familiar hunt areas.

you are not much help without listing the publisher or where to find a copy.

Rich,
Being the internet sleuth you appear to be, I would have thought you would have looked at Safari Press.....

I check Safari Press first, then Abebooks.com for all of my books.

Abebooks is really good.
