dogcatPeter Flack's new/old book - Heart of an Africa Hunter
I just finished the book. Very good and very enjoyable reading about him. He is a fairly deep and open thinker and has a lot of opinions that are very well expressed among his various hunting stories. He went on two disasterous hunts - one for brown bear in Alaska and his first for mountain nyala. His comments never centered on lack of game but on lack of planning by the outfits. I would have been a lot more upset than he was.
Seems to be a solid gentleman hunter and someone I would like to meet some day.

mr rigbya little offtopic perhaps. but i got today the dvd " Flack hunts south Africa." i havent watched all of it, but its a great film and he is a gentleman from what i have seen on the film.
Showing the novicehunter alll aspects from landing in Johburg airport, to get the weapons trugh customs, various hunting areas and rifle/ammo advise and much more. the film is 2 hr 45 min long, so there is a fine way to spend some time preparing for the tour.

Die Ou JagterI really enjoyed his two books, and I have a few of his DVD's which are pretty good but seem a bit PC as many do not show the kill (not that blood is necessary) but it makes them a bit jumpy ie disconnected if you know what I mean. I have said if I could have dinner with two men it would be Peter and Craig. I have been told Peter can be a bit full of himself. The other book is Tales of a Trophy Hunter in Africa.

I know both and have dined with both, and whomever said Peter Flack "can be a bit full of himself" does not know the man I know.

dogcatBill,
If you can get them to a dinner in the US, I will buy and come whenever, wherever.
I would love to sit in on their conversations and hear their opinions.
