Hunting books for children?
My godsister (8) has started to express an interest in hunting and fishing. Are there any good hunting-themed, kid's books

Thank You

Ludo Wurfbain of Safari Press and his wife have written one. I've forgotten its name, but it's listed in their catalog.

Robert Ruark's "The Old Man and the Boy" is an excellant read that also teaches quite a bit of shooting, gun safety, camping and fishing both fresh and salt waters.

It is an autobiographical account of Ruark's own youth and what his grandfather taught him from about age 9 to graduation from high school. It might be a bit too much for someone as young as 8 but it would be great for an interested 12 to 15 year old. If you don't use it now, do so later. And you will enjoy it too!

My local (small) public library has a copy, maybe yours does also or can get one for your godsister.
