Halfway through this book and highly recommend it. Great stories, great photos. Translated from French, there is a few oddities, such as a pic of wild dogs captioned as hyenas. However, the writing is fresh and loose and very entertaining. Stories like, "upon opening the belly of a snake shot in the hen house, three whole eggs were found and marked with a red pen, placed under a hen and later hatched without trouble"! Or trusting his solids to hold tight, took the only shot offered through a tree trunk and brained a jumbo. Sensational? maybe, fun to read? Absolutely
