The Last Resort: A Memoir of Zimbabwe
Written by Douglas Rogers, the book is akin to Peter Godwin's book, When a Crocodile Eats the Sun. The story of how the author's family was affected by the resettlement program in Zimbabwe. Very easy to read, albeit frustrating and angering that you can reach through the pages and try to help rectify the injustice being done. God bless the people of Zimbabwe, white and black, that have endured this dark period in the country's history.

Amen to that. I pray for all the remaining white residents of Zimbabwe...

God help them

I've read both Godwin's book and Rogers'. I find a lot of these memoirs about Zimbabwe both sad and inspiring. Sad that a country with so much going for it can be destroyed by sheer stupidity, but inspiring to read how some of the older, wiser folks quietly, but with determination and cunning, persevere and succeed in spite of the raw, stupid greed for power that surrounds them. Gives me hope that we can do the same, if it ever gets that bad.

I just read "Resort" over the weekend and really loved it. I have never been to Zimbabwe, though I am planning a hunt there next year.

I certainly do hope (though, admittedly without much optimism) that when Mugabe dies some positive changes will begin for all Zimbabweans. Lord knows they have suffered greatly over the last couple decades.
