Hunting Books or Stories for Kids -- any recommendations
I have a 10 year old son who really struggles to find something he wants to read. He loves to hunt, though, and just killed his first deer over Thanksgiving. Any recommendations for books or stories that he might like? Thanks, Michael

This was explored in earlier posts and, if I remember correctly, only one title (a book still available from Safari Press) was mentioned. You might try checking farther back in this forum. Good luck.

I don't know if Safari Press still offers that book. I have not been able to find it online in their catalog but I haven't called them about it either. I was going to buy it.

I believe the book Bill is refering to is "The Education of Nagomo".
It can be found here

"Jock of the Bushveld" would be good as well, I imagine. I have no idea where to find a
copy of that one, though.

I think I was about 10 when I first read Ruark's "Old Man and the Boy" and "The Old Man's Boy Grows Older".

Shoot, at 10 years old, I was reading every hunting magazine I could get my grubby paws on. I would have been thrilled to get any of the books discussed in this forum. Well the "How To" books probably wouldn't be that great, but the ones that describe hunts and far off distant places would be excellent.

As was DPhillips, at age 10 I was reading everything I could find about hunting. KMSLA may want to consider such books as East of the Sun and West of the Moon by the Roosevelt brothers, and some of the J.A. Hunter and Jim Corbet books for his son.
