Do you know JY Jones and his books?
I just finished One Man, One Rifle, One Land and have started Another Rifle Another Land.
These are serious books on hunting and very detailed.

Anyone know him or about him?

Met him once in BC at an outfitters camp where I was working as a guide. Was a really nice guy and, unlike a lot of the film/book types I have met along the trail, he was a very serious hunter and knew what he was doing. Not pretentious and easy to be around. That was some some time ago........... yikes, just thinking about it I guess it was the early 90's.

I have seen his books in Safari Press for years but never bought one.Hell,we can't buy them all. I could be wrong since I have not read them but was his choice of calibre 30-06?

THanks for moving this thread here. Just trying to get more info.
Seems like a great guy and serious hunter, not a collector.

I'm not certain, but I may have bought the first freelance article he ever sold 100 years ago when I was SCI's publications director.

In person he is a humble man who seems to always accomplish what he starts out to do.

With SCI's backing, he got Congress to amend the Marine Mammal Act (although only temporarily) to allow U.S. hunters to import polar bear trophies they had taken legally in Canada.

Norman: Yes, he used a .30-06.
