Have recently been introduced to fine quality side by side shotguns and wondering what the small lever on the left side of the receiver does ?
These shotguns already have two triggers, the top lever for breaking open the shotgun and the tang safety lever.
What function would this lever perform ?

They allow access to the locks. AYA and some of the other spanish companies use them a lot.
