I have a very nice Zabala on it's way to me, flavored in 3" 12ga M/F (I'll might have a smith open it up a little, but will pattern first). I know it's not a Merkel or a Parker(lust, lust, drool, drool) but for leisurely day of busting local bunnies or a bird or two, it will suffice . Besides that, it only was $250 USD .

Yeah,

I think of the couple of Baikal SXS I have owned and I am positive I shoot better with a SXS especially with rabbits. Thye also have that look....kind of like an African Double rifle

I can't get the name Merkel out of my head either it just seems more traditional to have SXS Merkel than a Beretta

Seems like there is renewed interest in the sxs. Go to Cabela's web site and look at the doubles being sold. Somebody is buying those Parkers, L. C. Smiths and Ithicas and paying big bucks for them. I would love to have a Parker repro in the "steel shot" special. Jusy a few K too far.

Did you read the review of the Stevens 411 in American Rifleman? Savage is introducing a russian built SxS with single trigger, ejectors and choke tubes for $400. It looks like a great deal. I used to have a Stevens 311, if this 411 is as good we may have a resonably priced SxS again.
