Rem. 870 Youth Express any good?
Anyone have experience with the youth shotguns? BiMart selling them for only $289, and wondering if they are as good as the standard 870s. I have stocky, short arms and they seem to fit me perfectly. Anygood?

I bought 2 of them for my boys. I sold 1 when they out grew them. I kept the other one for my daughter. They've been good, trouble free guns. The only complaint is that they are light so recoil can be an issue.

Thanks for the info. I went an bought it, and to my surprise, it comes up perfectly, and shoots exactly where I'm looking! Better than my $5,000 Grulla for me. Goes to show that cost isn't everything. Cheers!

There's nothing at all wrong with them, they're just plain with a matte finish and hardwood stock. Insofar as the "workings", they are essentially the same as the 870 has always been. I'm sure they will eventually "wear out", but you'll "wear out" first.

I bought one a couple of years ago when Academy (a large sporting goods store in this part of the world) had a promo sale that got you a rebate plus a hard gun case. My initial use for it was for something I could keep in the closet with a loaded magazine that my wife could (theoretically) use to take care of a skunk or similar varmint in my absence (we live in the country). But I also have a couple of grandkids that arent' that many years away from being ready for their own dove gun.

Great guns, tough sharp recoil due to weight, add a limbsaver grind to fit.

You have the same issue with the browing BPS youth, light weight.

Both are great choices for light shooters.
