Winchester Model 24 20ga
Last weekend I replaced the gun I regretted selling the most,my Winchester Model 24 12 ga double barrel. The one I sold was SN 5,xxx made before WWII .It had the best grain of any shotgun I have ever seen.It was unfired with no scratches looked new.I sold it to get my girlfriends engaugement ring.I looked around for that gun for 5 years till I bought it.I went two years without a Model 24.I finally found a 20 ga.I had never seen it in 20 ga only 12 ga and a few 16 ga.I dont know when they stopped making them.I think they started making them in 1938.This one has 50,xxx sn.I got it fOr less than I thought I would pay.It shoots good the first model 24 I ever shot.Is there any where I can get spare parts?I found a few on Numrich Gun Parts.I wanted two new firing pins.I see there is a left and right one.I heard the mainsprings wear out easy .Thats what the guy who sold it to me said.its an awesome little shotgun I hope to use it from now on.

I have a 16ga model 24 sn#72xxx. This was my Dads gun and I grew up shooting it. I think he bought it new when he graduated from high school around 1955. It is a very fast handling shotgun and I still find myself grabbing it when I go out the door to do most of my hunting. I bought a M1200 Beretta 12ga when I graduated from high school but I still prefer the old double.
