<ironbender>Is it a shotgun.....
...if the barrel is rifled? My dictionary describes a shotgun as having a smooth bore. Now if it has lands and grooves cut in it, it is 'rifled'. Doesn't that now make a 12 ga. shotgun a .73 caliber rifle?
Don't get me wrong...I realize this is kinda nit-pickin, but I ask only to generate some thought and discussion.
Have a safe holiday!

p dog shooterYes it is still class as a shot gun by BATF. I would think some of the newer bolt guns with threaded barrels would push the issue.

meteDepends on state laws too. If my memory is correct Massachusetts does not permit hunting with rifled shotgun.
