Beretta owns Benelli?
Does Beretta own Benelli? I see that they have a new store in Dallas and they sell Beretta, Benelli, Tikka and Sako in the same store.

Pardon my ignorance on this question.
Thanks

There is a relationship but I don't know exactly whether it's whole or part ownership.. The Beretta F1200 is a Benelli for example. But this is no surprise as in the gun industry you'll find many companies own part of others !!

As far as I'm concerned it's only a question of what incompetents (or outright thieves) own a gun company. The one makes indifferent shotguns and the other has no other recommendation to make pistols or shotguns than being centuries old. {Where did the idea arise that the Italians, of all people, can have a competent ordnance manufacturing company?} (Some day there will be a real US Congressional investigation into how Beretta got a contract to replace the 1911A1 45ACP pistol as the US Army service pistol)

Speaking of incompetent arms making I saw a documentary on arms making in Pakistan. You couldn't pay me enough to pull the trigger on anything those dimwits made. "Pakistani engineering" just doesn't have the same ring to it as "German engineering". rotflmo

I almost laughed out loud at your reference to "Pakistani engineering" and "German engineering". Smiler We are not allowed to make such comparisons nowadays! Smiler I am still expecting all other American infantry carrying weapons to be "outsourced" to whomever can do it most cheaply - so the right people at the Pentagon can boast how they are saving the American taxpayers' money.

It's a good thing officers can still acquire their own weapons. I have a Glock.

I might have been insulted by that comment had I not considered the source.

They do own Benelli and if you look on the choke tubes for your Beretta or Benelli they will be stamped BER/BEN or Beretta/Benelli. They use the same tubes.

?? Um, maybe the fact that they have been around since 1526? They are the oldest firearms manufacturer in history and are still owned by the Beretta family.
