Winchester Model 12- Stocks
Hey guys... i need a new stock set for my Model 12 16 Ga.
Awesome gun. But need to know. Are all the model 12 stocks the same? Will a stock from a model 12 12Ga. work? Or are the frames different for Ga.?? Or does it need to be from a Model 12 16Ga. or 20Ga.?? Thanks for your help.
PS and do ya know where to get one?

Model 12 16ga. are supposed to have been built on a 20 guage frame...that's part of what makes them so great! I'll get in the safe later this week and compare my 20 to 16 and let you know.

The stocks look to be the same size, even the magazine tubes look to be the same size, different size followers though.

I remember reading about the common frame size in an American Rifleman a few years back.

Good luck finding a stock as I'm sure there was alot more handfitting back in those days.

Months ago someone was selling some stock sets in the AR classifieds...might try a search there.

Dear Maddog:

Why don't you try Wenig gunstocks in Missouri.

I've used three of their stocks on 1898 Mauser action rifles, and love them. They have a complete assortment of shotgun stocks, too.

I'll be using one of their stock sets for a 1951 Browning Auto 5 that I am restoring.

Sincerely,
