I have order hoppe's clay trower.

Has anyone used one? The dealer said it's ok.

Can it trow dobbels with some speed?

Is it a solid trower and is it easy to set up?

I can't tell you what model it is, I don't remember.
I'll look at it before I take it home. The dealer said that that ok for him.

Any negatives about it. I'd like a solid trower that trows with some speed and lengtht.

Does anyone know about a website for hoppe's?

I have one, and assuming it is the same unit, it won't do a decent job on doubles. Mine tends to fling them out too far apart, and often breaks one of them. Perhaps if it were mounted solidly (as opposed to stomped into the ground with the pegs that come with it) it would work better.

It works great on singles and I have taught many folks to shoot with mine. It does not work well in dry ground, it needs to be mounted on something sturdy, or you are forever chasing things around.

Speed wise, it is certainly not going to throw at olympic trap speeds. Definitely a beginner setup.

The reason I'm asking about the hoppe's this is the one my lokal dealer can get.

I'll mount it on a car tire and I hope that will work.

Thanks for the input. I'd like one that trows far and fast. The bird I hunt tend to fly fast. I also shot normal trap at the range once a week all summer. But now I just can wait a hole week to shoot.

I hunt a lot of partridge (Alectoris chukar and Perdix perdix) and the thrower helps a lot, more than shooting trap. It is plenty fast to simulate those birds, and a lot faster than pheasants or the larger grouse species. It is probably a little slower than a dove. Usually, I make different stands, and shoot until I get a shot angle "down". Takes a lot of clays in some cases!

In the end, though, it is a lot easier to go to the sporting clays range, and yell "pull"! League starts next week! FWIW, Dutch.
