All shotguns kick more with slugs. As the weight of the slug and velocity of the slug goes up so does the recoil. If you want a gun that has the less recoil with slugs or any heavy load, you should stick with a gas operated automatic. Gas operation generally reduce recoil by 40 to 55 % Muzzle loaders kick less but you have only one shot. If you stick with any good manufacture of gas recoil automatic, you will be glade you did. I can see a big difference between those.
