Browning Auto 5 stock finish

I am restoring a 1930's Browning Auto 5 and I need to if the original stock finish is an epoxy or a oil finish. If anybody has any information that would be great.

I don't think epoxy existed in the 30s !!It's either oil or lacquer.They also used a pink dye in the lacquer IIRC.

Thanks for the response. I guess I meant lacquer instead of epoxy. Pink Dye?
