Winchester SX3 and Browning Silver Hunter - comments requested
Stupid me, I made the mistake I always make. Went in to buy a few components, got talking with the guys, they put a few autoloaders in my hands. Beretta A391, Benelli Super Black Eagle, and these two. These two felt the best to me. Beretta felt too clunky and big, Benelli didn't come to my shoulder quite as naturally. The Win and Browning seemed to be almost identical to me as far as "feel" goes, and I quite liked them.

Considering using them for turkey, fowl, and probably some off-season clays. The Browning is very pretty but feels well-built, the Winchester feels every bit as well-built but has a more utilitarian look to it.

How close are they in terms of construction to one another? Are they well-built? Any stories or comments anyone would like to share? Thanks Smiler

No experience with either one, but the A391 is a very tough shotgun. I would suggest that if you want to find out flaws or how they function under stress that you post this question in the South Am. Hunting forums. The guys who organize the SA dove shoots see more broken shotguns than gunsmiths.......

The Browning Silver or the Win Super X 3 are great choices and won't fail you!

Both will be great shotguns for you, I prefer the Browning, just don't care for any Winchester shotguns (I know, the Browning Gold is pretty much the same thing and they are owned by the same people...I still prefer to have Brownings) other than the Model 12. I've been seriously thinking about getting a Browning Silver Hunter (my dad has the Gold and he loves it), just need to get some more time to hunt small game and I'll pull the trigger on it!

Well I decided on the Browning Silver Hunter, I was back today and had a chance to spend some time with it and the salesperson owns one as well and was really helpful with showing me assembly/disassembly and proper care and maintenance, he figured about 5,000 shells through his with no problems. It feels right and I bought a box of cheap Federal target loads to run through it and he threw in a box of clays to seal the deal. Been a while since I bought a gun worth looking at!

The Silver is awesome.
6 of us used it on a Sasketchewan(sp) waterfowl hunt and really ran it through it's paces.

I'm happy to say there's one in my safe as well.
