Cr500:

May I suggest that you put up on Google the following? *Charles *Boswell * shotgun". Take it from there. The shotgun sounds like it is quite valuable in any model and your serial number sounds like near the turn of the 20th Century - so don't even think about using modern "high base" loads out of it. You have two goals right now, 1) get an exact identification of the gun being offered for sale and 2) What does the seller want for it? Forget about it as a hunting piece.(What is "nitro proof for 1 and 1/4 oz? Is that a misprint?) You may be able to make some real money.

I will have a look through google. The flats has "proof 1 1/4oz" on them.I was mainly after something I could use in the field. Maybe a newer miroku with 3" chambers would suit me better.
