I am thinking about buyiny a AYA Model XXV...
It is about 30 years old and looks to have spent most of its life in a safe...
I don't know a lot about this model of AYA ( the XXV that is ) Please educate me on this model with your opinions and knowledge.. I want to be sure of what I am getting If i do Indeed buy it.. Thanks Sur5er

AYA have made XXV's in both boxlock delux and sidelock configurations. I am not aware of AYA ever "sideplating" a boxlock, so, if it has sidelocks, they are probably genuine.

The sidelocks were generally finished a bit better than the standard #2 sidelock and used to fetch a 30-40% premium over the #2 - this was in the UK and Ireland.

25" guns are now badly out of fashion over here.

I have a 26" barreled spanish sidelocks with a Churchill rib like the AYA XXV. It is a lovely gun, but I cannot shoot it worth a damn, it is just too short for me.
