Price check, please, Winchester Model 23

I happened across a Winchester Model 23 this weekend. 28 gauge, probably 98-99%, I think they even had the original box. The tag was $3895. How realistic (or not) is this? I don't know what grade it was.....

They are high priced, especially the higher grades- I think it is one of those I have it if you want it this is how much it will take before I let it go.

Check dawsonsdoubles.com. He normally has 23s in quantity and may have what you saw. That price sounds a bit high but I am wrong. The one Dennis has on a "baby frame" is 4700+ and is sale pending. You would do better to get the 20/28 ga combo if you can. The small gauges are at a premium.
