newtootExperience with Remington 11-87
1. Would like to hear of any and all experiences with a Remington 11-87. I am considering a 3 1/2 in. I shot my son in law's 3 1/2 inch Rem 870 this morning while goose hunting and it wasn't as bad in recoil as I figured. The 11-87 should be better.
2. Do the ported chokes really help appreciablly with reducing recoil? Thanks Ray

FordfreakNewtoot,
I own an 11-87 super mag 3 1/2. I bought a pattern master chock tube for it, and man does it bring down them honkers.Recoil isnt that noticeable except when patterning it off the bench. The only thing I dont like about it is the fact that you really have to pull back hard and fast on the bolt to empty the gun. If you do it slow, the shells get stuck in the receiver and have to be pried out by hand. Of course this only happens with 3 1/2 in. shells.Other than that it is a super reliable shotgun for the price and my favorite automatic of all time.

bmpreglerI am very hard on my 11-87, usually take it out at least 4 times a week during duck season and it very seldoms gets cleaned. I think it is the best duck gun made. I would not trade it for any other auto on the market.

newtootThis thread is no longer applicable as I purchased a Benelli Nova yesterday but I can't edit it (delete) because my "time limit has expired". Thanks to all who answered.
