Chasseur:
ErikD asked a question that I always wondered about myself. Exactly what is the benefit of a rib? You answered and quoted what I presume (because I respect your views)is an authority -who ended up saying anyway that you shouldn't look at the barrels. Of course, you shouldn't! The whole idea of using a shotgun is the coordination between eye and hand. We "point" our finger naturally at anything. A shotgun is supposed to be our finger looking at the "object". The last thing we do is to "aim" along a barrel. So, Chasseur, what about it? Is a rib really worth anything? (except, maybe, to take care of excessive drop for some shooters?) As always, not picking a fight but want your views!

bmpreglerYou might try the forums at shotgunworld.com, they have some pretty sharp members over there, when it comes to shotguns.
