Rem 870 Slug Gun Project
I am putting together a slug gun on a Rem 870 and from the searches I have done the one thing that I question is making the barrel "fixed" in the receiver. I understand why to do it but not sure on the method used to do it. The info I have found says just to drill and tap the receiver with a cap head set screw to keep the barrel tight in the receiver. That is all well and fine but the receiver in that area is very thin. Will this work or is there another way to do this? Thanks, Sam.

Go to http://www.tarhunt.com and see some pics of what they sell. It wont tell you how to do it, but will give you some idea maybe.

http://www.bansnersrifle.com/page_1.html This gun smith had done this years ago. He used long screws, going through the scope mount, receiver, into the barrel, if i remember correctly, not sure. I think it was a one piece weaver base. This is before the cantilever rifled barrels of today.
