Mossberg 500 and Maverick?
A friend of mine ask me if the barrels from the Mossberg 500 and the Maverick 88 will enterchange - does anyone know? I have never owned one and told him that I would check. Thanks

Barrels are interchangeable.
Only difference, at least for a little while don't know about now, is that the Mavericks were using one slide rail instead of two in order to cut corners.

If you are interested in a new barrel, I stock a bunch of them.

I have the maverick 88. Same gun as the Mossberg 500, except for the synthetic stocks. It does have two slide rails as the mossberg does.

I have a mind like a steel trap... rusty and illegial in 37 states.

I have only seen a couple of the Maverick 88s, and the big difference is the safety in the triggerguard rather than on the top/wrist of the reciver.
