Benelli face lift.
After the muddiest duck hunt in over 25 years, it took over 2 hours to get the mud off my gear and another hour to get my SBE free of mud. Seems like a total rebuild..........Washed it in the kitchen sink much to the delight of my wife and then totally disassembled it and cleaned and oiled everything. Since the gun is old and I bought it second hand, I've had some rust issues with the barrel so after it was washed and dried I went over the barrel with steel wool and put a coat of Brownells Alumahide II on it. Looks like new now. Had to make a couple of jigs to support the barrel for paint and they worked very well..look like small wire coat hangers.

Don't ask me what happened, when I left Viet Nam, we were winning.

Sounds like quite a project.

A person can't hardly buy a blued steel S&W revolver anymore, but stainless waterfowl guns are almost unheard of. I will never understand why stainless steel hasn't been the ONLY metal used for duck guns for the past 20 years. They can coat stainless with matte black and you wouldn't have to stress about it nearly as much about getting it wet.

Yes, I miss the classic blue S&W revolvers with nice walnut grips. That's all I'm interested in owning.

Me too. When I was a new cop in the mid 80's everyone had one...now they are not "tactical looking" enough.

Gotta have two pairs of cuffs, mace, stun gun, night stick, radio and a semi auto that holds at a minimum 15 + 1 and a couple of extra magazines. All that crap has got to be black because black is beautiful (tactical). The shotgun in the car has to have an extended magazine and 5 to 7 shells attached to the stock.

Ron,

It's becoming uncommon to see a shotgun in the rack lately.

Gotta have a "Patrol Rifle" now. All of the new cops call them an "M4" even if it ain't one!

Although the paint looked good, it isn't tough enough for the duck blind. Went to the taxidermy shop and they are dipping guns. I had my Benelli dipped (just the barrel and top of the action). My buddy was there and said that if he could pick the camo, he would pay for it. So far I seem to be setting a trend and I enjoy the attention....
