Any 10ga Double Experts Here??
Ok..I need some help here...
Some choices that are higher cost than the Spanish Doubles...
How do these rate against each other ??

1)Ithaca Field Grade 10ga
2)Beretta Silver Hawk 10ga
3)Stoeger Model 6HG (Heavy Goose) 10ga

Looking at these but a good bit more money than a Spanish 10ga Double I am also considering ?

Thanks Guys!

The Beretta would be my first choice. The older Spanish guns can be questionable. You have to be careful with the Ithaca's. Early on the standard was a 2-7/8" chamber. A bunch of the older guns got rechambered for the 3.5" shells but they just are not up to the pounding. The later guns made for the 3.5" shells are ok but I have seen them with loose ribs and cracked stocks. If you plan on doing a lot of shooting the Ithaca 10 ga. auto is a good gun.

I have and use a 10 Ga Mercury, spanish double 10.
I had a P.O.S., pride of Spain, or the more usual meaning Wink
The Mercury is much better quality of the two. Shoots better patterns as well. My main use for it is flock shooting Blackbirds scared off the corn silage in the bunker. Clouds of them. I give them both barrels out about 40 yds with 2 1/4 oz of No 19's I load up in 3 1/2" win hulls.
Makes it rain b birds. They are back soon enough with their relatives though, never seem to put a dent in the population. It's had lots of rounds through it, no problems. The POS I gave to my nephew.

I have an Armi San Marco 10 ga o/u. They are Italian made and are well put together. The Richland may be by the same maker. It is a good gun and I shoot it quite a bit.

My luck would be the Ithaca followed by the Silverhawk. Why? I never saw a Silverhawk that had been used that did not split at the head of the stock.
