Gerrypeters375usps:
I hasten to say that I don't have an answer for you. This old man is simply awed that you have an L.C.Smith -and in 10 ga. (I used them in 12 gauge and thought that was the biggest and also in 16 -back when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

All I can suggest is to surf the internet and find double barrel shotgun gunsmiths. (I don't know where you'll find a fore end. The "Elsies" I shot had a regular fore end ( not splinter and, of course, not beaver tail) so maybe old pictures might get you a good imitation to be manufactured) Good luck. (Just as a matter of curiosity - a 10 ga. L.C.Smith must be a Damascus barrel era and, so how do you plan to ever shoot it? (Even Pyrex might be doubtful to use -although I freely concede I just don't know) In all events, good luck. All L.C.Smiths should be preserved!

maxbearusps, login to this website I have linked below.
http://www.doublegunshop.com/Post your question on there forum. I remember a couple of years ago there was a gunsmith who did a LC. Smith restoration, and posted his progress on the doublegun forum. It was quite intertaining. So you might do a search while your waiting for an answer to your question.
There is alot of wisdom on there site.

Paul ReedI have similar plans for an old LC Smith that I have..that is to bring her back to shootable condition. I have been told by the LC Smith Collectors to contact Dewey Vicknair who is capable of doing a great job.
