Final crimp stage on MEC Sizemaster

Hello folks
I have a new-to-me Sizemaster. The final stage crimp is horribly out of adjustment.

Does anybody have a quick-n-easy way to get the adjustment on this at least somewhat close?

What is the problem with the crimps? Spiraled? Too deep or not deep enough? More information, please.
