chokes loosening
any of you have any troubles with your chokes loosening after a few rounds (say 20-30) of 12ga? is this a problem or just being paranoid?
thanks.

I shoot doubles skeet with a SX_1 Winchester that I had screw in chokes installed. I tighten it up as I go around the field and see a lot of other guys do the same thing. I have some screw in chokes in a Miroku and they fit flush and they never seem to loosen up.

I'm glad I read cooperjd's post after I am retired from shooting - because I was almost neurotic in my constant checking of screw in chokes! I just couldn't believe that they were here to stay! Smiler

I'm shooting the Winchester SX3 with a Briley LM ported choke. I have greased my threads to prevent it from seizing in there so mine gets loose often after 6 rounds or so.

Since I don't need a wrench, after each station, I give it a quick check now to be sure.

When I'm hunting, I check the once in the morning, then I don't bother until I put it away.

Use a good choke wrench and tighten the choke rather than just hand tightening. John
