Where to Sell a Browning Superposed?
A friend has asked me to sell his Browning Superposed 20ga. shotgun. The gun is a "Lightning", Grade 1, 26.5" barrels, vent rib, Mod and Full, 3" chambers, and is at least 98% condition. It comes with the original box and paperwork. I would appreciate some suggestions as to where I should advertise the sale of this gun. Send me a PM and I'll answer any questions. I believe it is a 1966 model. Thanks

You can try Gunsamerica on the web. It is not an auction site and you reach a lot of people in a short time.

The 20 gauge is bringing a premium in a superposed. Your friends sounds like it will bring a good price. The original box and paperwork adds to the value. He needs to have a good appraisal done to start with.

I think a 1966 might be long tang; I can't remember the exact cutoff year but '67 comes to mind. The dfference between a 98% 20 ga. long tang and 98% short tang can be as much as $3000, maybe more if you fing a Superposed collector. 100% guns still go for $5000 or more.

The short tang began in 1966. Just checked my copy of "The Browning Superposed"

It's very very obvious. The long tang refers to the lower tang which extends almost to the bottom of the pistol grip, usually the rounded knob style. The short tang looks like most other shotguns, ending shortly after the trigger guard.

LBGuy,
Try listing the gun over at Trapshooters.com in forum (only one forum). Guns listed there all of the time.
