GLCNEF H&R Ultra Slug Hunter Questions
Anyone have good luck with one of these? I'm looking at a 12 gauge model with the plain wood stocks. I have "heard" they are accurate but I don't know anyone that has one.
For those that do have one:
What kind of 100 yard groups are you getting?
What sabot slug brand is working best?
How is the recoil and handling of the gun overall?
Thanks.

MarkI was hoping someone else would post, as I don't have any experience with the 12 guage model.
The 20 guage ultra model I've shot and worked on, it is nice though rather heavy due to the barrel, which I believe is the same OD as the 12 ga. You might want to replace the recoil pad on a 12 guage, but other than that based on my experiences they are an OK gun, and if you factor the price they are a really great buy.
I would definately buy one before I bought a Hastings or similar barrel for an existing gun.

teflonI have one that I use to hunt in Ohio. It seemed silly to spend a lot on a gun that could only be used eight days a year. As far as accuracy ... using Winchester Super-X one ounce slugs (not sabots) it shoots three into 2 1/2" from a sitting position at 125 yds. I have never used sabots or shot from a bench with this gun. Also, use a Bushnell 1.5x4.5x32, my max range with this rig is 150 yds. Hope this helps
