I have a matched set of SKB 385 sporting clays side/side in 12 ga and 28 ga...28" and chokes...



I'm considering selling locally at an auction and can set a lower limit but also want them to sell.....I'll sell separately as they are not consecutive or matching serial numbers.



What should be the lower linmit?...they're out of production and 99.99% metal and wood.....almost NIB!!

BTW, I don't have a clue but I like it. Fixed chokes or tubes?

I'm not sure this is correct but I believe it's the same as the Winchester M-23.....can anyone confirm this?

Here is a 23 and the action shape is not a scallped box lock like yours. That may have been just current window dressing on the SKB and the rest may be the same.

Thanks for that photo Chic.......I knew they wasn't identical because I have a golden pheasant 23 in 12 ga and there definitely are differences.....further there's a barrel selector on the trigger on the SKB....
I'm under the impression that there might be no more than a dozen or so of these sporting clays models in the US...at least in 28 Ga. I've never seen one offered for sale and have no clue as to what the going price is. I hate to misvalue it because it's just not right in either manner of error. I can go to gun list and occasionally find a M23 for the $4,000 mark but this SKB don't have the majik name of Winchester inscribed to the barrels. Since it's no longer produced by SKB I suspect the price will go up.....but I have no chrystal ball on these things either...

I bought an Ithaca (SKB) 280 S/S, 20 gauge, in 1972 and paid full tilt retail for it, $275. Which at the time seemed like one hell of a lot of money. It took a lot of saving on my part to come up with it. They are now selling for $1200 to $1400 and there were a lot of them made. You do have a rare bird in that 28 gauge and it should increase in value very well.
