General Questions
Just starting to investigate a suppressor for deer hunting.
First question is- Do suppressors have industry standard threads. For example can I start by having a rifle threaded now?

Thanks,
Keith

If you are considering "direct thread" suppressors, .30 caliber cans are usually 5/8-24, but not always and .338 cans are often 3/4-24, but not always.

Pick your can first, then thread the barrels accordingly.

I prefer direct thread cans for easy barrel swaps without costly proprietary adapters I learned my lesson the expensive way).

Tapered threads don't come loose, should only be tapered the last 3 o4 threads being real snug and they tighten as you shoot to one degree or another, but usually require a screw driver or tool to tap them off..I havn't found that a problem if your prepared for it. I carry such a cut off screw driver in my cartridge belt..
